Group Therapy in Salt Lake City, Utah
Structured groups led by our clinicians, designed to build lasting skills that compliment individual therapy.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) — 8 Weeks
Developed in 1979, MBSR is the original mindfulness-based program and remains the gold standard in stress-reduction training. Over eight weeks, you’ll build a practical toolkit such as breath awareness, body scan, and mindful movement that impacts everyday life.
The Goal
Build lasting skills to meet stress, difficult emotions, and daily life with more steadiness and less reactivity.
The Practice
- Breath Awareness: anchor your attention and calm an activated nervous system
- Body Scan: notice how stress shows up in the body before it takes over
- Mindful Movement (Gentle Yoga): build presence through slow, accessible movement
- Walking Meditation: practice awareness in motion, on and off the mat
- Group Inquiry & Discussion: process your experience together and learn from others in the group
- Informal Daily Practice: bring mindfulness into everyday moments like eating, walking, or routine tasks
- Mini-Retreat: a 3-hour extended practice session partway through the course to deepen your skills
A few reasons people come to MBSR:
- Anxiety, chronic stress, or burnout
- Depression, PTSD, or empathy fatigue
- Insomnia or chronic pain
- Wanting practical tools
Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) — 8 Weeks
Most of us are far kinder to others than we are to ourselves, especially when we’re struggling. MSC is an eight-week group that pairs mindfulness with compassion practice for yourself and others so hard moments don’t come with the added weight of self-criticism.
The Goal
Trade a harsh, critical inner voice for one that’s supportive, kind, and motivating.
The Practice
- Mindfulness: learn to meet difficult emotions rather than avoid them
- Self-Kindness: practice offering yourself the same warmth you would offer a friend
- Common Humanity: recognize struggle as part of being human, not a personal failing
A few reasons people come to MBSR:
- A relentless inner critic
- Perfectionism or chronic self-judgment
- Difficulty accepting support or kindness from others
- Wanting a gentler relationship with yourself
Advanced Mindfulness Group — Ongoing
For graduates of MBSR and MSC ready to go deeper. This ongoing, one-hour virtual group meets weekly and rotates through topics such as rumination, seasonal depression, radical acceptance, attachment, gratitude, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and working with difficult emotions. This builds on the foundation from both 8-week groups. Led by Dr. Brandon Yabko.
The Goal
Keep your mindfulness practice active and evolving, with new tools added over time.

Interpersonal Process Group — Ongoing

The Goal
Build the capacity for authentic, emotionally intimate relationships that carry beyond the group.
The Practice
- Here-and-Now Focus: work with what’s happening between members in the room, not just what’s reported
- Vulnerable Sharing: practice opening-up and receiving honest reactions from others
- Trust and Safety: build the deep connection that makes real change possible
Best For You If
- You keep running into the same patterns in relationships
- You want honest, real-time feedback
- You’re ready to be seen and to see others more closely and authentically
